Nankana Sahib

Nankana Sahib, a center of great historic importance, is one of the oldest cities in Pakistan. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the Sikh doctrine and ideology was born here in 1469 AD. There are over 45 million followers of His teachings around the world.

The Bhatti Family of Nankana Sahib, due to their ancestral links to Guru Nanak Ji, feels a special obligation to maintain and promote the City of Nankana Sahib. Rai Bular Bhatti, the founder of Talwandi (former name of Nankana Sahib) was amongst the first to subscribe to Guru Ji's key message of the Brotherhood of Man, Fatherhood of God and the Oneness of the entire creation.

After the partition of India in 1947, most Sikh residents of Nankana Sahib had to temporarily part with the birth place of their first Master. To empathies the tragedy, it’s often visualized as a picture of the Muslims having to vacate Mecca or Medina or the Christians’ having to leave behind the Vatican.

The Bhatti Family of Nankana Sahib is well aware of this unfortunate historic event and therefore work relentlessly hard and continues to promote the message of peace and harmony as preached by Baba Nanak Ji. The Family knows that it is incumbent upon them to stay connected to Guru Nanak’s and Rai Bular’s vision and keep the city of Nankana Sahib as a key center of global excellence in Inter-Faith Diversity . This status can only be maintained by continually celebrating the historic importance of this great City.

  • Interactive Activities

The Bhatti’s acknowledge that the interactive activities between the Sikhs and people of Nankana Sahib cannot be left to Governments or special Agencies, especially in a country like Pakistan with its inherent socio- economic and political problems taking up all the available scarce resources of the State.

In view of the present and historic importance of Nankana Sahib, the Bhatti Family is committed to promoting tourism in Nankana Sahib. This will achieve their core objectives to enable more people from around the world and Pakistan to better understand interfaith harmony, and to practice higher levels of religious coexistence.

Humanity’s future depends on people tolerating each other more to than ever before. Not enough is being done in this direction. Guru Nanak Ji and Rai Bular’s vision is certainly a step in the right direction for the world to live in peace and harmony.

Rai Bular Ji during his time and for centuries since Guru Nanak Ji, the Bhatti family of Nankana Sahib has made an extraordinary effort to promote interfaith harmony and spread the message of peace of Guru Nanak Ji. Second to Bibi Nanaki Ji, Rai Bular Ji is revered in Sikh history as the second person to recognize Guru Nanak's Divine characteristics. The Bhatti Family of Nankana Sahib are very proud of this linkage.

Sikhs with an endowment of the rich interfaith heritage and being dutiful to their Master, hold in high reverence, the love, Rai Bular Sahib had for Guru Nanak Ji. The Bhatti Family is well honored by the Sikhs all around the world.
